Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

The Fishers Fire Department’s EMS Division delivers around-the-clock Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) services to our community. Our highly trained paramedics and EMTs are committed to providing compassionate, expert medical care during every emergency.

Our Services

The Fishers Fire Department operates seven strategically located fire stations, each equipped and staffed to provide rapid response to medical emergencies across the community.

Our response network includes:

  • 1 EMS Duty Officer offering on-scene medical leadership and oversight
  • 3 ALS Medic Units staffed by highly trained paramedics and EMTs
  • 7 ALS/BLS Engines providing frontline medical response
  • 3 ALS/BLS Ladder Companies supporting both medical and fire emergencies

Our paramedics deliver advanced life-saving interventions before patients reach the hospital. Their capabilities include cardiac monitoring, airway management, medication administration, and other essential emergency procedures that significantly improve patient outcomes.

Collaboration & Community Care

The EMS Division collaborates with local public safety and health partners to enhance emergency response and community well-being.

Fishers Police Department

Patrol units carry AEDs, and the Emergency Response Team includes tactical medics. Several officers are also trained as dual-role police/paramedics.

Fishers Health Department

We partner on joint initiatives, like the Fall Prevention Program, to reduce injuries among residents and emergency calls received due to accidental falls.

Mobile Integrated Health

Focused on proactive, community-based medical care to support residents beyond traditional emergency responses.

Smart911 is a free, secure app that allows you to share critical details, such as medical conditions, special needs, and vehicle descriptions, with emergency responders.

Medical Oversight

Our medical protocols and quality standards are guided by Indiana University Hospitals, Indianapolis, under the leadership of Dr. Paige Ostahowski, our Medical Director. Dr. Ostahowski ensures our teams deliver the highest level of pre-hospital medical care.
